Monaco Brasserie Adopts French Classic Style

Rodolphe Parente’s latest project, Le Fernet in Monaco, marks a shift towards French classicism. The brasserie is a tribute to the great Parisian brasseries, with a focus on comfort and hospitality.
The studio describes Le Fernet as “a contemporary brasserie” with rich wood panelling, brass detailing, and crisp white linens. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a classic city salon, without being too nostalgic. They have achieved this by creating a space that feels both modern and timeless.

Parente’s touch is evident in the layout, with cosy banquettes and secluded corners creating intimacy within an open room. Noble timbers and soft textiles contribute to the atmosphere, while careful attention to acoustics keeps the room’s buzz from becoming too loud. This attention to detail helps to create a warm and inviting space.
Live musicians perform on select evenings, adding energy to the space without disturbing the calm. The menu is concise and seasonal, featuring brasserie classics reworked with a lighter hand, and a wine list built around independent French producers. This approach to the menu and entertainment helps to create a sense of sophistication and refinement.
